Sturgeon for Tomorrow was incorporated January 5, 1978, by five local families that had a dream to reproduce the sturgeon population. Bill Casper led the charge by gaining information and knowledge on reproducing sturgeon. After the first time to reproduce failed, changes were made and second attempt showed great success. After successful reproduction, Bill Casper, Victor Schneider, Floyd Lemke, Robert Blank and Daniel Groeschel got together and incorporated Sturgeon for Tomorrow Inc. They created by-laws for the organization with the help of Attorney Kenneth Sippel of Mount Calvary. Throughout the last 40+ years, five Sturgeon for Tomorrow Chapters were created around the Lake Winnebago system. Sturgeon for Tomorrow continues to work with local DNR to find new spawning sites, as well as maintain and fix old sites. This organization has raised over $1.2 million for sturgeon habitats and the Sturgeon Guard.
